If you are a doctor, medical specialist or a regular visitor to this blog, feel free to submit a guest post to Men and Health: It’s a Guy Thing. Drop me a line at scottbkeith@yahoo and pitch your idea. Please provide a brief bio and a link to your website/blog. I try to keep posts brief… rarely more than 700 words. Opinions and ideas expressed in guest posts do not necessarily reflect the views of this blog or its creator/writer, Scott Keith. Please remember that medical facts, statements and figures from our guest bloggers (as is the case with any website) can’t substitute for a visit to your family physician. If you experience a symptom or have a medical concern, please see your doctor.

Men who lack in their health should follow these simple and easy tips for better health and staying in fit/shape.
1. Eat smaller meals throughout the day. This will help keep your metabolism high and will burn more fat, while keeping you energy up all day.
2. By having a simple exercise routine to supplement your healthy lifestyle, you will lose weight faster, build more muscle, have more energy for more of the other activities you want to do in day, and you will be gaining a cornerstone of health to the best life’s practices.
3. Take one meal to cheat and have a beer and pizza, or whatever foods you love. Research has shown that those who allow themselves some of the foods they want will stick with a diet.
Follow these three tips plus make a visit to your physician and you cannot go wrong by keeping your body healthy.

Men of all ages should be educated to take care of themselves. It’s not always about being physically active. Men need to live up to their full potential, enjoy each day.
Most importantly, see your primary care physician for any health concerns you may have, especially if you have any symptoms. Don’t be your ‘own’ doctor.
Get your prostate checked, your heart and have a complete physical.
Men’s Health Medline Plus (www..nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/menshealthhtlm. Provides health topics, drug supplements ,videos and tools to assist you in your health awareness for men, boys and seniors.
cdc-centers for disease control and prevention is an informative site of men’s health topics from A-Z. Healthy living is a good place to start. If you missed National Men’s Health week in June, you can learn how to become more aware of preventable health issues and possible early detection of disease for boys and men and treatment.
You can begin, it not already, to get involved in activities you enjoy. When you feel good, why not stay ‘good’. Do what makes you happy. Play ball, swim, walk, hike, dance or simply do fun activities to maintain and improve your mind. Crossword puzzles, brain teaser games, play chess, etc. What’s important is that you do something!
It’s up to you to choose your own course of action and passion. Include friends and family. Enjoy healthy activities to keep you physically and mentally fit.
Again, make sure you see your doctor for any health concerns or overall physical symptoms you may experience.
