Congratulations if you are starting to eat more healthful foods. It takes a lot of discipline to include all of the major food groups in your daily eating routine. The Internet has a great tool to help you. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s www.mypyramid.gov offers a fun, interactive experience. Try out the MyPyramid Plan. Enter a few numbers and discover the amount of food, in each food group, you need daily. I entered some personal stats and found out I need 9 ounces of grains, 3.5 cups of vegetables, 2 cups of fruit, 3 cups of milk and 6.5 ounces of meat and beans. This is based on my weight, age, sex and amount of daily exercise. This website will walk you through just about any question you may have on healthful eating. Enjoy.
